1. Organizing a Partners Forum for the 8WAMM
The Secretariat is responsible for organising the 'Civil Society Partners Forum' that precedes WAMM through its CSO Steering Committee , where civil society participates in the wings of the WAMM. The Partners Forum will take place from 10-11 June 2007(to be confirmed) , in Kampala . At the 8WAMM itself, every 6 th speaker will represent CSOs . This process of engagement enables civil society to develop a collaborative and co-operative relationship with government, for a more comprehensive and co-ordinated national approach to addressing issues of gender inequality .
2. Follow up the implementation the Commonwealth Plan of Action for Gender Equality 2005-2015
The plan of Action (PoA) provides a framework within which the Commonwealth will advance its commitment to gender equality and equity.
